My name is Emma Romell and I am a junior at UW-Madison, majoring in Sociology with certificates in Gender & Women's Studies and Education Policy Studies. This past summer I was a Badger Reach Fellow and interned at City Year Milwaukee, as well as the District Office of Congresswoman Gwen Moore. My work deepened my knowledge of Wisconsin politics and issues I care about, like women's rights, poverty, and education inequality. Being a Badger Reach Fellow allowed me to connect with other students who share my interests, as well as alumni who are working in the fields I hope to work in someday.
